# Introduction to Runner

Runner is the easiest way to get paid for running on Base. Log your runs, compete with others, and earn $RUNNER tokens every week.

### How It Works

Every week, the top 8 runners in our mini-app split the trading fees generated from the $RUNNER token. It doesn't matter if you're a casual jogger or a marathon runner - just log your kilometers and compete.

The more you run, the better your chances of landing in the top 8 and earning your share of the rewards.

### What We've Distributed So Far

# How to Participate

Getting started is simple. Here's how to join and start earning:

### Step 1: Get Set Up

Our mini-app runs on Farcaster & The Base App. You can sign up through:

### Step 2: Find Runner

Search for the Runner mini-app on Farcaster or The Base App. You can also visit our [website](https://runneronbase.io) to access it directly.

### Step 3: Log Your Runs

Click the jogger icon in the app and upload a screenshot of your run. We accept screenshots from any tracking app - [Strava](https://www.strava.com/) and [Garmin Connect](https://connect.garmin.com/) are some popular options.

### Step 4: Compete Weekly

Every week resets on Friday. The top eight runners, ranked by total distance, split that week’s trading fees generated by the token. Rewards are distributed in $RUNNER.

### Step 5: Claim Your Rewards

If you land in the top 8, claim your rewards through [Mint Club Airdrops](https://mint.club/airdrops). We post the claim link every Friday on our [Farcaster](https://farcaster.xyz/runonbase.eth) and [X](https://x.com/runnerbased) accounts.

$RUNNER is a [Clanker](https://clanker.gitbook.io/clanker-documentation/references/compatible-trading-platforms#clanker-v3.1.0-and-previous) token (the first) launched on Base.

### Supply

* **Total Supply:** 1,000,000 $RUNNER
* **Burned:** \~6%
* **Circulating:** \~940,000 $RUNNER

### Fee Structure

Every transaction generates a 1% fee:

**Buy transactions:**

* 0.4% goes to the Runner team (paid in WETH)
* 0.6% goes to Clanker (paid in WETH)

**Sell transactions:**

* 0.4% goes to the rewards pool (paid in $RUNNER)
* 0.6% goes to the treasury (paid in $RUNNER)

Weekly rewards for our top runners come from the sell fees and are distributed in $RUNNER tokens. Treasury funds are set aside for future bonus payouts, giveaways, community rewards, or to add to the liquidity pool.
